Elections are a bit like a national IQ test. Every four years we get together to elect a President and we are rightfully judged according to our choice. Based on our most recent choices for President, especially Clinton and Bush, America’s collective mental state is in serious jepardy.
In all fairness, the choices have been somewhat limited. When Kerry ran against Bush in 2004, the differences between the candidates were so slight, that a coin toss would have been the most practical way to choose between them. This election cycle, there is a candidate running on a “change” platform. This candidate has the following positions:
- Wants to expand the size of government, and more government programs
Wants to give amnesty to illegal aliens and allow the third world invasion to continue
Wants to bomb other countries in the service of international diplomacy
Wants to increase taxes
Wants to give the government more power and increase the scope and intrusion of law enforcement
So who is this “change” candidate? Hillary? Edwards? Richardson?
No it’s Obama!
Of course, those positions are held by the other candidates as well, who presumably aren’t for “change,” or at least not as much as Obama, though I’m sure they’d disagree. They all have minor policy disagreements. Obama has said for example, that he wants to get all troops out of Iraq “NOW!” This is a bit different from the others who have temporized on the subject. However, when pressed, he’s actually a bit circumspect about what “NOW!” really means. I suspect that “NOW!” would morph into quite a bit “later,” especially considering that he has said, infamously, that he would like to bomb Pakistan, presumably to make them kow tow to our will. He’s kinda like Bush, but without the adulatory press.
The reality is that there is “not a dimes worth of difference” bewteen any of them, as Ross Perot once famously said, and I’m NOT just talking about the Democrats. The Republicans have similar policies, again with minor mole hills of difference that they have tried to spin into Everests of implacable opposition.
The only real change is the fact that Obama is a (somewhat)black man with brown(ish) skin. This has got the whiney, weepy, soggy, lefty set of our society all atwitter. Imagine! A black (kinda) man for President! Why, I must run out and TELL everyone that I’m going to vote for him right away! For the low self esteem lefties, Obama is just an excuse to demonstrate what wonderful people they are. After all, all the world knows that you get TWO gold stars in Gods little book if you vote for a (sorta) black man! TV says so!
If nothing else, it might help you get laid with a lefty chick.
As for what the Obama silliness says about our national IQ, well the news isn’t good because he’s kinda stupid.
In this election cycle there will be no excuse for Americans, the way there was in the last Presidential election. That’s because there is in fact a candidate running for President who does in fact represent change.
That candidate is Dr. Ron Paul. He is the candidate all the others fantasize about being: A real man of integrity, honor and change. He is white however, so you wont get any bragging rights or brownie points with God if you vote for him. You will however get a chance to see what your country is like in the hands of a competent adult.
If you don’t vote for Ron Paul, you might as well throw a dart at a board, then get the t-shirt that says, “I’m with stupid!”
Your blog is interesting!
Keep up the good work!
